Re: Perdido Pass dredging notice

I fished the west jetty Saturday Mar 13 in that 20-30 knot west wind and it was OK. NO boat traffic and the water in the channel was tannic but clear (4'-6' vis) without any tide movement to speak of (despite the wind). Still I caught a couple of small sheepshead on dead shrimp, but did nothing alon...

Re: Cooking on the grill?

I've used a gas grill for over 10 years now and never looked back 8-) The ease of quick startup and temperature control overshadow any drawback IMHO. As afar as getting that 'smokey' flavour (as my wife used to say), I've used 'liquid smoke', but prefer a piece of wet pecan next to the rock brickett...

Re: Fishing in Destin

Yeah, Greg nailed it pretty well for ya 8-) You won't anything special (tackle-wise) beyond what you'd use to fish for walleye or trout/bass. Be sure to bring some heavy clear mono (like 30# - 50#) to make leaders with as both mackerel & blues have SHARP teeth. You'll need needle nosed pliers or...

I fished Perdido Pass (seawall and west jetty) Tuesday afternoon. There was no tidal flow (even though the tide was rising slightly on a NEAP). The water was seriously off color (looked like COLD dark iced tea ;-) And the sheepshead were goin NUTZ! A guy was catching good numbers over the rockpile n...
