I know what you mean about the "surprises" in your old truck. I have a 64 Chevy C10 that I am currently working on with all sorts of hidden patches a pop-up sunroof, and huge holes cut in the bottoms of the doors for speakers.

That's a nice tank, did you make it yourself?

I'm eventually going to put a fuel cell under the bed too.

I spend more time fixing the bad patch jobs than anything else and the orange paint is really bad
it just flakes off there was no prep work before he painted it. THe guy i bought it from
was suppose to be a paint and body guy he needs a new line of work. I just started on the body work
and have a ways togo to make it right.

I know what you mean. The previous owner of my truck cut the motor mounts with a torch when they took the engine out to rebuild it, and drove it with just one motor mount for several thousand miles :0 The floor pans had sheetmetal welded over rust rot, the doors had about 3' of bondo in the bottoms of them, there are several wires that go no where, brakes were gone, windshield's scored up, but mine is also coming along. I'm doing it for fun (as I'm sure you are), so I don't mind the work.

If you think you have found all the surprises go get it media blasted LOL :D

When i bought the truck the guy said the brakes work great. I didnt drive it cause it wasnt insured so i hauled it home on my car hauler. The brakes were shot i ended up replacing all the brake lines, master cylinder, all the wheel cylinders, shoes and springs. Now the brakes are good. I saw most of the problems when i looked at the truck the only reason i bought it was because the motor ran good and the cab didnt have any driprail rust. I have been working on it for a little over a year slowly.
