Comments :

Generally considered pesky trash fish. Very common around jetties and in the surf. Handle with care. Stabs from fins can be very painful. Someimes used as shark bait.

Comments :

Generally caught while trout fishing. Will hit the same type of live bait and lures as trout. Not of any real food value. Larger members of the family will make hard runs and leaps from the water like their cousins, the tarpon.

Caught near the rocks with small hooks and pieces of dead shrimp or squid. Use for live bait to catch large Redfish, Tarpon and Kingfish. Can also be used as cut bait.
